The aim of Yoga is to become more aware of oneself and to find a way to inner peace, harmony and a sense of unity. In order to come closer to such a state it has been determined that especially in the West it is more meaningful to initially bring the body to the centre of attention. The mind needs a focus and feelings need a concrete point of reference which they can refer to.
In this context the physical positions (asanas) in Yoga, which we instruct in the classes, fulfill different objectives. For one they keep the body healthy and fit, but because of their complexity they require so much concentration to be carried out correctly, that there is no time for distracting thoughts. This implicit concentration on the moment has a very relaxing effect on the mind. At the same time the body is challenged at the appropriate level to expand its abilities and possibilities at every age.
For such experiences the Yogazentrum Akazienhof offers a variety of classes at different levels. In the beginner classes basic aspects of the Yoga asanas are taught and expanded on in future classes. In the intermediate and advanced level classes more complex asanas are added, positions are held longer and the work becomes more differentiated as body awareness matures. In the background there is always the goal to improve the ability to concentrate, thereby allowing for deeper levels of relaxation.
New in the programme we offer a yoga for kids course as well as a course for people over 55 , which cater more to the specific needs of these age groups.
